New York City, June '07
We had a conference for work in New York City and I had an opportunity to spend a weekend here before some more meetings, so I grabbed my camera and walked. And walked. And walked.

NYC Day 1
Central Park from Rockefeller Center looking North. Central Park is just an amazing place. From here it looks "pretty" big, but when you realise that it's 4 kilometres long, this view takes on a whole lot of new meaning. 4 kays of highrise apartments and offices, and that's just looking on one direction. I couldn't help but wonder what the value of this land was - I checked the wikipedia entry and they estimate it to be $528 billion.

The Chrysler building from the footpath. Our hotel wasn't too far from here.Grand Central Terminal building out the front. Apparently because everything stops here, you can't call it a Station, it has to be a Terminal!Inside Grand Central. When I first walked in I felt like I'd been here before, I'd seen it so many times on TV and in movies.
It's such a large space, but the acoustics mean that you can hear pretty much everyone talking.Just another street corner. I have no idea which one.I decided to brave it up the top of the Rockefeller Centre, and I'm really glad I did.
Manhattan looking South.Central Park from Rockefeller Center looking North. Central Park is just an amazing place. You can see the Empire State Building above everything else.
Way out there on one of the islands you can almost see the Statue of Liberty. It's a long way away!I really was there!40th Street looking West on dusk.
Another shot of the Chrysler building. And I jagged a plane flying overhead!Little Italy! There are more Italian restaurants in Little Italy than there are in Italy! Not true, but it makes a nice sentence.Bleecker Street subway station.
One of the ornate subway signs.
